The Senate Deputy President, Senator Ike Ekwereamdu, has said he has no intention of contesting the 2015 governorship election in Enugu state.
Senator Ekweremadu stated this at a parley with journalists in Abuja.
He also refuted reports that the governorship seat has been zoned to Enugu north, explaining that there is no zoning arrangement in the state.
Also speaking on the constitutional amendment process, the Deputy Senate President said the Senate committee on constitution review would lay its report before the Senate’s plenary this week.
He assured that recommendations made by the committee were based on majority views on what would best strengthen the nation’s democracy and federalism, while also engendering national development.
