Former chief security officer to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha on Tuesday, described his release from prison as a plus for democracy and rule of law.
He made this stament while in Kaduna to pay homage to the Emir of Zazzau, Shehu Idris and renowned Islamic teacher, Ahmed Gumi as well as his teeming supporters.
Accompanied by Mohammed Abacha and a large number of supporters, Mr al-Mustapha, who was charged for conspiracy and murder of Kudirat Abiola, expressed optimism that the peace that has eluded Nigeria over the years will soon return, and urged Nigerians to pray and believe that God will restore lasting peace to the country.
On his state of health, he said he has been certified fit medically by his doctor.
On his part, Sheik Gumi hailed the judiciary for Mr al-Mustapha’s release and appealed to the former chief security officer to forgive those responsible for his incarceration.
