Former Governor of Anambra State, Doctor Chukwuemeka Ezeife was one of those disturbed about suggestions that the entire Anambra election process should be cancelled.

He shared his concerns with Channels Television just before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced a new date for the supplementary elections in Anambra State.

According to Doctor Ezeife, it would amount to a colossal waste of time and resources to cancel an election that was properly conducted, despite a few hitches.

He said that it would be unfair to the voters to throw the entire exercise away simply because some politicians who lost out were calling for cancellation.

INEC however announced on Friday that it would go ahead with its proposed supplementary election rather than the outright cancellation being clamored for by some of the political parties involved in the November 16 Anambra election.

Saturday, November 30 has been fixed for the supplementary election.
