This is the view of the chairman, Agricultural Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce, Wale Oyekoya and a member of the Cassava Processors Association Mr Femi Salami.
They were both speaking on Channels Television’s business programme Business Morning.
According to them, the Nigerian government has got some good policies but there is no funding to back it up.
Mr Wale Oyekoya said that the 15 billion Naira the government promised farmers during the 19th economic summit is yet to be made available to them.
They emphasised the need for the government to make adequate provision for funding in the Budget.
The Nigerian government launched its agricultural transformation agenda in 2011 and this has seen agriculture contribution up to 41.9% to the GDP in the third quarter of this year.
