The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba, has warned the warring factions in Ugborodo community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State to desist from violence or face the law.

He stressed that the Nigerian Navy would not hesitate to apply the full force of the law on anybody making trouble in the community.

A struggle over the leadership of a community trust fund has led to the loss of several lives in the community, as two factions clashed over who should negotiate for compensation over the siting of the Federal Government proposed multi-billion dollar gas city in the Escravos region in the area.

At a mediation meeting with the warring factions in Abuja, Vice Admiral Ezeoba, said that the project is for the benefit of the people and the leaders of the community must see it as so.

He urged the factions to express their grievances in a non-violent manner while bearing in mind the wish of the people.
