Channels AA AwardsChannels Television has been declared the Best Television Station in Africa.

This was at the 2014 African Achievers Award, which took place in Accra the capital of Ghana.

Individuals and corporate organisations were recognized for their efforts in impacting positively on the African continent through creative enterprise, business, governance and entrepreneurship.

The event, which held at the presidential banquet hall, State House, Accra, Ghana had several notable personalities from different countries of the continent in attendance, including government officials from Nigeria.

Channels Television has not only taken the lead in Nigeria, but Mr John Momoh and his crew again come under the spotlight for excellence in the broadcast profession.

The Chairman of Channels Television, Mr John Momoh, in his acceptance speech, thanked the organisers of the awards for the honour; he also thanked the management and staff of his organisation for buying into his vision for the station.

He took the opportunity to also reflect on the killings of innocent lives in Nigeria’s northeast during recent attacks on the region by the Boko Haram sect. He asked for a minute silence in honour of the innocent lives lost in Nigeria and other parts of Africa.

Channels Television in 2013 won for the 8th time, the prestigious Nigeria Media Merit Award, NMMA, for Best TV Station of the Year and it is the first television station in Nigeria to be nominated for the international Emmy Awards in the UNICEF category.

The station has more than six scores of trophies in its cabinet.
