Jonathan's aviation policyThe Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, has approved the re-organisation of federal agencies under the Ministry of Aviation.

A statement signed by the Media Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Sam Nwaobasi, named Mr Saleh Dumona, as the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, replacing Mr George Uriesi.

Mr Ibrahim Abdulsalam replaces Engineer Nnamdi Udoh as Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency.

According to the statement, Captain Samuel Caulcrick is the new Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology. He replaces Captain Chinyere Kalu.

Former Commissioner in charge of the Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau, Captain Muhktar Usman is replacing Captian Fola Akinkuotu as the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.

The nominations are subject to confirmation by the Senate.

In the meantime, Engineer Benedict Adeyileka will resume in acting capacity, pending the Senate confirmation.

Captain Usman will be replaced by Engineer Felix Abali Commissioner of the Bureau.

The Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Doctor Tony Anuforo retains his position.
