edo_lawmakersThe APC lawmakers in the Edo State House of Assembly have appealed to the Inspector General of Police to remain neutral in the ongoing crisis rocking the House.

Chairman, State House Committee on Information, Kabiru Odjoto, made the appeal on Wednesday when he alleged that the four suspended lawmakers were receiving protection from policemen who are not under the Edo State Police Command, a statement which was immediately debunked by the state Commissioner of Police.

Both factions continued their waiting game outside the premises of the Assembly despite the rain.

An attempt by the PDP Lawmakers to take cover under umbrellas which is their party symbol, almost led to confrontation from the APC Lawmakers but for the timely intervention of the Area Commander.

The blame game however continued between both parties as they blamed each other for the continued crisis.

The PDP Lawmakers and their APC counterparts have adjourned sitting to Monday and Wednesday next week respectively.  Both factions are hoping the appeal court will put an end to the present logjam.
