The Kaduna State government has commenced campaigns to create awareness on the Ebola Virus in order to prevent the spread of the dreaded disease into the state and also sensitise the people about the disease.

The state commissioner for Health, Dr Tot Dogo, who stated this in an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, said that apart from the provision of protective medical kits for health personnels, the state had also designated quarantine centers in the 23 Local Government Areas of the state and had also put all the tertiary and primary health facilities in the state on alert.

He also added that corpses from outside the country must have a certificate of cause of death before being allowed into the state, noting that without that, such corpse will not be buried in the state.

The governor, however, noted that the measure was not applicable to deaths recorded within the state.

As part of creating awareness on the dangers of the Ebola Virus, the commissioner said the state had also embarked on massive enlightenment campaign on radio and distribution of information leaflets to residents of the state to serve as a preventive measure to contacting the virus.
