abdulsalamiFormer Head of State and Chairman of the National Peace Committee for the 2015 general elections, General Abdulsalami Abubakar has challenged the Nigerian Army to replicate its March 28 performance during the governorship elections fixed for April 11.

Speaking in Abuja while on a working visit to the Defence Headquarters, General Abubakar commended the armed forces for their role in the presidential election and for the successes achieved in combating terrorists in the north east part of the country.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, who received members of the committee reaffirmed the commitment and loyalty of the Nigerian Armed Forces to civil rule, saying the era of military rule is gone forever.
