ndleaThe National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has discovered and destroyed over 24 hectares of cannabis plantation found at the Gambari forest reserve in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Commandant of the NDLEA in Oyo State, Mrs. Omolade Faboyede, who led a joint team of security agents to the cannabis farm, expressed shock at the discovery of such a huge cannabis farm hidden in the Gambari reserve which had been raided by the agency about 2 years ago.

Faboyede said that the war against illicit drugs cultivation, sale and distribution would be more intense than ever and warned that any farmer caught in the act of producing cannabis will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

She also promised the people of Oyo State and its environs that the agency would uncover such farms anywhere in the state.

The team of law enforcement agents were drawn from the Police, Civil Defence and SSS.
