GombeAt least 36 people have been confirmed dead in the Dadin Kowa and Duku motor parks explosions on Wednesday evening in Gombe State, north-east Nigeria.

Declaring the figures on Thursday, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Gombe State Specialist Hospital, Dr Reuben Ardo, revealed that 15 deaths had been recorded in the hospital.

He added that 15 persons were currently on admission having sustained various degrees of injuries, stressing that 56 others with minor injuries had been treated and discharged.

The medic also hinted that a successful caesarean surgery operation was carried out on a pregnant woman, who was admitted as a result of the shock she went through during the attack in the Gombe metropolis, revealing that both mother and child were in good condition.

Similarly at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gombe, the Deputy Director of Public Relations of the hospital, Haruna Rasheed, said that 21 deaths were recorded, while 36 others were presently on admission.

He also hinted that 9 other persons with minor injuries had been treated and discharged.
