Terrorism: Armed Forces College To Review Training Curriculum

The new Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Air Vice Marshal Sulaiman Dambo, on Saturday said the college would review its academic and training curriculum to meet the demands of the current Boko Haram insurgency

The commandant disclosed this shortly after taking over from his predecessor, Air Vice Marshal John Ifemeje, who just retired from service.

He stated that the inclusion of counter-terrorism training for officers, who passed through the college has contributed immensely to the success recorded by troops fighting the Boko Haram insugents in the north east.

According to him, the college would continue to build the mental capacity of its students to equip them with vital skills to confront any war situation.

The commandant warned officers and men of the college against partisanship and mismanagement of resources.

Air Vice Marshal Dambo also solicited for the support of the staff to re-position the institution for greater efficiency.

He commended the former commandant for remodeling the military institution, which made it to excel.

On his part, the former commandant thanked God and Nigeria for giving him the opportunity to serve the nation for 35 years.

While giving account of his stewardship, Air Vice Marshal Ifemeje says the entire college was renovated in addition to the remodeling of its two departments in line with global standards.
