Senator Saraki made the declaration after his appearance at the tribunal on Tuesday.
In a five paragraph statement signed by him, Dr Saraki said that “I reiterate my belief that the only reason why I am going through this trial is because I am Senate President. If I were to be just a Senator, I doubt if anybody will be interested in the asset declaration form I filled over twelve years ago”.
He also said that the trial is one which would always be a referral to students of law and international community.
Senator Saraki, however, thanked his colleagues who joined him in solidarity and his counsels for their performance.
