Mr Fashola while in a meeting with the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, on Monday, also assured State government that their reimbursement claims would be paid after verification.
He said that President Buhari had appointed a committee to verify the claims of states that embarked on Federal Government projects in their states.
These claims, he said, included the rehabilitation of federal roads and assured the Governors concerned that once the claims were verified, the states would be reimbursed.
The Minister was accompanied on a courtesy visit to the Governor by officials of the ministry and some contractors especially that of Jebba Oloru federal road.
He lamented that the money allocated to Works Ministry by the previous administration was inadequate and also misappropriated by unpatriotic Nigerians.
Mr Fashola assured the Governor that once the misunderstanding between the Executive and the National Assembly over discrepancies in this year’s budget was settled, the country would be better for it.
He urged the two arms of the government to put the issues behind them and do the bidding of the electorates.
Responding, the State Governor thanked the Minister for inspecting the bad Federal Government roads in the state and assured the Minister of the readiness of his government to partner with the Federal Government in the areas of roads construction, provision of lands for the housing estate in the state and the need to ensure stable power supply.
As the minister concludes his working visit to Kwara State, it is hoped that the assurances given will soon translate into actions especially the need to reconstruct the federal highways in the state.
