SarakiHearing in the trial of the Senate President over alleged false declaration of assets has resumed at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), with the prosecutor, Rotimi Jacobs informing the tribunal that there are two issues before it.

First is an application asking the tribunal chairman to disqualify himself from the trial and continuation of cross examination.

Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Mr Danladi Umar today entertained the hearing of the motion to excuse himself filed by one of Dr. Saraki’s counsel, Mr. Ajibola Oluyede.

Mr Umar expressed displeasure over the conduct of some people, using their phones and cameras to send the wrong message on the trial to the general public.

He also revealed that discussions are ongoing to reach out to major television stations such as Channels Television and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) to cover the proceedings live.
