Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has urged his executive council members to ensure that decision making and effective execution become the hallmark of the administration.
Governor Obiano made the call on Monday at a two-day retreat held in Awka, the state’s capital in southeast Nigeria.
He enjoined them to adopt the ‘we are in a hurry’ attitude in which every file that comes to any ministry would be treated without delay as he would commence surprise checks which he termed “sweeping” in no distant time.
Governor Obiano acknowledged the present efforts of the state government and assured citizens of better performance progressively.
He urged the Anambra State residents and others in various parts of the country and in the diaspora to come home and join in developing the state with further assurances that he was committed to fulfilling all his campaign promises.
In their reactions, the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Willie Nwokoye, and the Commissioner for Education, Professor Kate Omenugha, assured Governor Obiano of efficiency in the discharge of their duties.
The retreat, tagged ‘The Great Push To The Finish Line’ is the third edition being held by the Obiano administration. The Governor said that it is geared towards strategic improvement on Anambra State development during his second tenure.
It gave participants the opportunity to review and reappraise the performance of the administration in the past two years and re-strategise to fill the gaps in the remaining two years to make the state better.
