
Launching the scheme in Buniyadi, the headquarters of Gujba Local Government area, the Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam said the scheme was aimed at ensuring food security and poverty alleviation among the returning IDPs of the Area.
Distributing the package to the farmers, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam represented by the state Commissioner of Agriculture, Mustapha Gajerima asked them to ensure that they made the best use of it to achieve the desired objective.
The governor also said more animal traction, irrigation equipment, fertilisers, pesticides and other farm imputes would be made available at a very subsidised rate.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Makama Gashua while thanking the government for the gesture said it would go a long way in revamping the agriculture sector.
He therefore, urged the beneficiaries to work assiduously towards bringing back the lost glory of agriculture within the two council areas.
