Agriculture, Food Sufficiency,The Ogun State Government has challenged development partners, especially the International Funds for Agriculture Development (IFAD) to do more and scale up its activities.

The government says this would close the gap in its extension services to farmers in order to ensure the development of the sector and its value chain.

The state Commissioner For Agriculture, Mrs Adepeju Adebajo made the call while receiving the IFAD team at the state secretariat in Abeokuta, the capital.

She listed right seedlings, inputs, mechanization and extension services as some of the areas the development partner’s assistance would be needed before the end of the planting season

Ogun State is currently partnering with IFAD in the production of rice, cassava and cocoa where the state has comparative advantages.
