
The government says this would close the gap in its extension services to farmers in order to ensure the development of the sector and its value chain.
The state Commissioner For Agriculture, Mrs Adepeju Adebajo made the call while receiving the IFAD team at the state secretariat in Abeokuta, the capital.
She listed right seedlings, inputs, mechanization and extension services as some of the areas the development partner’s assistance would be needed before the end of the planting season
Ogun State is currently partnering with IFAD in the production of rice, cassava and cocoa where the state has comparative advantages.
