The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) Tony Nwoye has given hints on his major plans for Anambra state.

He said if elected into office as the governor of the state, he would cut down the number of political appointees.

According to the APC candidate, the decision is aimed at blocking leakages and avoiding waste in government’s expenses.

“Why I want to contest for governor of Anambra State is to block leakages, wastages whereby over 700 special advisers being appointed or have been appointed by the present administration,” he said.

“Some of them don’t have portfolios; they don’t have offices but every month the state government parts away with more than N500million in the name of this issue of payment.”

Nwoye further promised to ensure proper utilisation of the state’s revenue if elected as governor

He also revealed plans to tackle the issue of inadequate power supply and road infrastructure in order to drive foreign direct investment to the state.
