Voters in Anambra East local government area have chosen with their votes, the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano over the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Tony Nwoye.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Obiano, and his APC counterpart, Tony Nwoye, are from the same Anambra East local government area.

Obiano of APGA won the local government with 20,510 votes while Nwoye, candidate of APC garnered 5,248 votes.

Obaze Oseloka of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had 1,132 votes while Osita Chidoka of United Progressive Party (UPP) came with a far lesser tally of 53, emerging fourth in the LGA.
