Voting has commenced to select the candidate to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the July, 14 governorship primary of the Ekiti State.
The process started with automatic delegates casting their votes i.e the category of delegates which include former governors and lawmakers, as well as elected officers, and then other delegates.
In order to ensure a smooth running of the process delegates were being asked to leave the premises immediately after they cast their votes.

Chairman of the Governorship Primary Election Committee, Governor Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State, Mr Tanko Al-makura who spoke to Channels Television, noted that lessons have been learned from the previous botched edition which is why the committee did everything necessary to ensure the process runs smoothly.
He said: “We have learnt so much from it (last week’s exercise) and that is why we have decided that this time around, we wouldn’t allow agents to come close to where the voting process is taking place”.
Also, reacting to the decision of the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu to withdraw from the race, he said the senator was entitled to his own opinion which he respects.
Ojudu said he made the decision on the grounds of envisaged violence and in the interest of peace, after the previous exercise was marred.
He also declined to announce his support for any of the remaining aspirants.
