Middle Belt Groups Ask Tinubu, Others To Implement Charter Of Demands

They stated that the Middle Belt had been perpetually under the siege of insecurity, following the recent killing of scores in Benue State.

Ethnic groups in the Middle Belt region under the aegis of the Conference of Autochthonous Ethnic Communities Development Association (CONAECDA) have called on the new set of elected leaders at all levels to implement its charter of demands.

Speaking at a conference on post-election evaluation and agenda-setting in Abuja on Saturday, the National Coordinator of the association, Kali Bonnat, highlighted the importance of the demands presented to the election winners during the campaigns.

Bonnat stated that the Middle Belt had been perpetually under the siege of insecurity, following the recent killing of scores in Benue State.

According to him, the attacks underscore the need to implement the items of the charter as presented to the contestants who have now won elections especially in the area of security.

The conference also resolved to hold their leaders at all levels accountable from the presidency to local governments.
