PHOTOS: NITDA Launches Comprehensive Digital Literacy Training For Civil Servants

The programme is a key component of NITDA’s mandate to upskill civil servants, ensuring that public sector employees are equipped to implement digital solutions for improved governance and service delivery.


 

As part of the strategy to empower federal government employees with essential IT knowledge and skills, and enhance public service delivery, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, has launched an extensive Digital Literacy Training and Certification programme for federal civil servants.

The 3-day workshop, which held at the e-Government Training Centre, Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), aims to foster human capital development in the digital economy and to strengthen Nigeria’s position as a global hub for technology and innovation, will train 69,000 federal civil servants under the Head of Service on a weekly basis, which will cover the entire workforce in 9-months.

Speaking at the event, the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to achieving 70% digital literacy in Nigeria by 2027, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising the critical role of digital literacy in enhancing governance, promoting innovation, and driving inclusive economic growth.
