Police Arrest 165 Suspected Illegal Migrants In Kebbi State

Further findings showed that the suspects were residing in Nigeria without valid documents and were allegedly involved in the Qnet Ponzi scheme.


Kebbi State is in North-West, Nigeria.

 

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested over 165 suspected illegal migrants and handed them over to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar.

Abubakar said the police, acting on intelligence, discovered over 200 individuals residing in a three-bedroom flat in the Kuwara area of Birnin Kebbi. Following a successful raid, 165 occupants were apprehended.

Preliminary investigations revealed that all the arrested individuals were from Francophone countries, including Burkina Faso (35), Benin Republic (11), Niger Republic (5), Mali (4), and Ivory Coast (110).

Further findings showed that the suspects were residing in Nigeria without valid documents and were allegedly involved in the Qnet Ponzi scheme.

Upon the conclusion of the preliminary investigation, the arrested individuals were transferred to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kebbi State Command, for further investigation and necessary legal action.
