Keys Defeats Baptiste To Seal French Open Quarter-Final Berth

The seventh seed ended the run of the 70th-ranked Baptiste with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at Roland Garros.

Australian Open champion Madison Keys saw off fellow American Hailey Baptiste in straight sets on Monday to reach the French Open quarter-finals for the first time since 2019.

The seventh seed ended the run of the 70th-ranked Baptiste with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at Roland Garros.

She will next face another American in Coco Gauff, for a semi-final spot after the former US Open winner beat Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Keys reached the semi-finals in Paris in 2018 and the last eight the following year, but is playing in the second week for only the second time since.
