Stranded LAISEC officials at Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Lagos, during the local government elections in the state on July 12, 2025

A mild drama ensued at the Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area on Saturday, as officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) were left stranded.

Our correspondent on the ground to cover the polls observed that presiding officers and election staff as of 9:30 AM were unable to leave for their stations, due to an inadequate number of vehicles to convey them.

After speaking to one of the officers, it appeared that the transport provider had been asked to provide a certain number of buses, which he claimed he did.

However, the buses were not enough to convey all the election officers, as some were seen struggling to get into the few buses.

While others hung on the buses, others were captured trekking to their various polling stations.

One said, “They told us it’s not far from here, so we can trek there”.
