Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has indicated that some of his recently disengaged aides may be reconsidered for reappointment as part of an ongoing political restructuring in the state.

The governor gave this indication on Tuesday while addressing participants during a health fitness walk he led in Akure, the state capital.

The exercise, which lasted about two hours, commenced at the Government House in Alagbaka, within the GRA axis, and ended at the Akure Township Stadium. It attracted participants from the civil service, civil society organisations, artisan groups, and security agencies.

Speaking during the event, Aiyedatiwa noted that the strong turnout reflected increasing awareness of the importance of physical exercise, not only for general well-being but also for mental alertness and spiritual balance.

Commenting on recent political developments, the governor commended some of his aides who were recently disengaged for their continued loyalty and active participation in the exercise.

It would be recalled that the governor, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Monday announced the disengagement of all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs). He also disclosed plans to appoint about 1,000 aides.

The governor further stressed that certain positions remain critical to governance, adding that some individuals would continue to be indispensable in the administration.
