‎The Chairperson of the Karim Lamido Local Government Council, Virginia Baba Bambur, has announced the imposition of a twenty-four-hour dusk-to-dawn curfew in Karim town, Didango, and other affected areas of the Local Government area of Taraba state. 

The curfew takes effect on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, until further notice

‎‎The decision, according to a press statement signed by the local government chairperson, became necessary following the escalation of a crisis, continued attacks, and loss of lives and properties as a result of unrest that has engulfed the affected areas.

‎‎The chairperson has directed all security operatives, i.e., the Army, Police, DSS, NSCDC, etc., in the local government to take note of the directive and ensure strict compliance. 

‎‎Virginia stressed that the government will conduct a thorough investigation into the root cause of the matter and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. 

‎She appealed to the people of the areas to remain calm, reassuring them that the government is making a concerted effort to restore peace and normalcy.
