The Chairperson of the Karim Lamido Local Government Council, Virginia Baba Bambur, has announced the imposition of a twenty-four-hour dusk-to-dawn curfew in Karim town, Didango, and other affected areas of the Local Government area of Taraba state.
The curfew takes effect on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, until further notice
The decision, according to a press statement signed by the local government chairperson, became necessary following the escalation of a crisis, continued attacks, and loss of lives and properties as a result of unrest that has engulfed the affected areas.

The chairperson has directed all security operatives, i.e., the Army, Police, DSS, NSCDC, etc., in the local government to take note of the directive and ensure strict compliance.
Virginia stressed that the government will conduct a thorough investigation into the root cause of the matter and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
She appealed to the people of the areas to remain calm, reassuring them that the government is making a concerted effort to restore peace and normalcy.
