The Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, has again assured Nigerians and other residents in the country that the Nigerian Armed Forces will continue to work towards eliminating insurgents and acts of insurgency being perpetrated by members of Boko Haram.

Addressing officers of the Nigerian Navy at a one-day seminar in Abuja, General Olonisakin said an effective synergy among all security agencies will help the nation surmount the challenges of insecurity.

He advised the naval officers and other security agencies to remain resolute in the fight against insurgency.

Also speaking at the ocassion, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas, who said the objective of addressing the immediate problems associated with the service’s operational and administrative matters including technology acquisition, made the seminar necessary.

He added that the nation will benefit from the attainment of a high level of self-reliance which is dependent on research and development of officers and men of security agencies.
