Two bombs exploded on Tuesday at the Angwa Sariki area of Kaduna state, north central Nigeria killing an officer of the anti-bomb squad of the Nigeria Police Force.
The yet to be identified Police officer was killed by the second explosion as he tried to defuse the bomb which was packaged in a plastic bag. The Police officers arrived at the scene of the explosion shortly after the first explosion occurred.
The spokesman of the Kaduna Police command, Aminu Lawan confirmed that attacks and the death of an officer from the police anti-bomb squad who tried to defuse a bomb.
Kaduna state has witnessed a number of bomb attacks in recent weeks with the twin bombing of the One Division of the Nigerian Army and the Air force Base in the state. The radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram had claimed responsibility for those attackers saying it was their response to the arrest of their members by the Joint Military Taskforce.
No one has claimed responsibility for these fresh attacks.
