In a bid to increase its capacity in checking the rate of explosions in the country, the Inspector General of Police has approved the training and mobilization of an additional 500 policemen into the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units across the country.

The Commissioner of Police of the EOD Command, Foluso Adebanjo, presented the second batch of 200 officers to the anti-bomb EOD command in Lagos for the exercise.

The shortage in bomb technicians’ remains a major challenge of the anti-bomb unit and the EOD training is expected to address the situation.
