Landlords in Kogi state have been advised to scrutinize their tenants before letting their properties or face been arrested as accomplices to terrorism or unscrupulous acts perpetrated by the tenants.

Kogi state commissioner of police, Mohammed Katsina made this disclosure following the discovery of a bomb factory in Okaitu, Obangede in Okehi local government area of Kogi state by security forces.

The bomb factory, a two room bungalow, was camouflaged as a Mosque in one room and a Church in the other with large quantities of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other dangerous ammunitions.

The local bomb factory was discovered following an attempted attack on a church in Okene and an explosion at a filling station in the state.

Mr Katsina said “a joint operation of the army and the police trailed the attackers and arrested one of them who led the team to the location”.

Prayer items, books, cassocks and several copies of the Quran were recovered from the factory. Others items recovered included liters of sulphuric acid, electronic detonators and detonating cords, capacitors, bottles of potassium chloride, remote control sirens among others.

Mr Katsina said all those found to be connected with the bomb factory, including the landlord will be charge with terrorism.

He also said arrests have been made over the incident and investigation continues and warned that any one found to be connected, no matter how highly placed will face the law until peace and security is restored in the country.

Three bomb making factories were earlier discovered in the North-Central state in the month of April 2012.
