Nominations for the eighth season of the Future Awards have commenced with a continental view this time around as one of the organizers; Debola Williams explains on Rubbin’ Minds that the Young Person of The Year category is now opened to the entire African continent and diaspora.

According to Debola, the Young Person of The Year category is now open to all exceptional young Africans between the ages of 18 and 31, who are making a mark in their profession.

The African category is in conjunction with the African Union in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the continental body.

The Future Award is now to be known as The Future Prize following a commendation from the World Bank which referred the award to the Nobel Prize for African youths.
