A member of the Grassroot Watch, Adeola Soetan has said that the National Conference should be based on Ethnic Nationalism which is one of the challenges Nigeria is expressing.

He stated that the conference should be determined by a balance of forces, how it ends and where it ends, stating that the people (Nigerians) should be consulted.

Speaking on Channels Television breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr. Soetan said that if there was development and good leadership in the country there will not be so much need for sovereign national conference, stating that Nigerians have to discuss than referring the issues to the National Assembly.

He said that in order to solve the issues in the country, the government should be able to go to the market places, streets and get the issues to be discussed at the conference.

He advised that stakeholders in different parts of the country should come together and discuss the issues disturbing the nation, such as education, unemployment, security amongst others.

Mr. Soetan emphasized the need for Ethnic Nationalism, “Any conference that you want to have today in Nigeria should be based on Ethnic Nationalism”.
