Following the election held in Kwara today, Senator Bukola Saraki, who is representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the election.

The Senator made the remark while speaking with journalists after casting his vote at the Ajikobi ward Ilorin.

Despite the decline of the main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to take part in the election, he marvelled at the magnitude of people who trooped out to cast their vote. This he noted is a good development for the ruling party, PDP and also hoped that the eventual result will favour his party.

He noted that though people were initially skeptical about the turnout, but he was thankful that the electorates came out to express their franchise in an orderly manner.

While commenting on the factional state of the party in the state, he said the outcome of the local government election will affirm who really is in control in the state, adding that the party members that left the ruling party to opposition parties will return soon.

The former National Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Abubakar Kawu Baraje after casting his vote at Baboko ward in Ilorin, also boasted that PDP has a strong hold in the state, due to its numerous achievements.
