People living with disabilities under the auspices of the Joint National Association of Persons Living with Disabilities in Imo State have a cause to smile.
This is because the State Government is supporting over 700 members of the association by empowering them with different mobility aids, working tools, scholarships, skill acquisition materials and capital to start up their businesses.
While donating the items to the physically challenged citizens, chairman of the occasion, Former Governor of Enugu State and Former Chairman of People’s Democratic Party, Chief Okwesili-Eze Nwodo said there is a need for the Federal Government to enshrine programmes that will solely benefit the physically challenged into the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Speaking at the Ahiajoku Convention Centre in Owerri, the Imo State capital, venue of the event, he called on well-meaning Nigerians to make it a point of call to render help to the physically challenged in the society at all times.
