Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has urged the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria to go all out to lift the 2013 edition of the Under 17 World Cup at the Final match holding today in Abu Dhabi.

In a statement, Governor Amosun said he had followed with keen interest, the journey of the Golden Eaglets from the preliminaries and described their performance thus far as ‘superlative.’

In a press release sent to Channels Television by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs Funmi Wakama, Amosun expressed confidence that the Eaglets would bring home the cup, as nothing short of a victory would make the nation proud.

“The Golden Eaglets have performed exceedingly well so far. I have watched most of their matches, up till when they qualified for the final. Their performance in the 2013 edition of the FIFA under 17 World Cup has been great,” the governor said.

The governor also expressed optimism towards the final match and urged the team to repeat the preliminaries trouncing of Mexico and write their names in gold.

He wished the Golden Eaglets victory as they file out for their final match in the UAE.
