adamawa acting governorThe Acting Governor of Adamawa state,  Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the election slated to hold on October 11.

In the primary election held in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, the acting governor scored more votes than five other contestants in a contest which saw the withdrawal of eight other aspirants.

Announcing the result on Sunday morning, the leader of the PDP delegation for the election Hon. Dimeji Bankonli said the acting governor drew a total of 624 out of the 912 votes cast to defeat other contestants on Saturday.

The current Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, Ahmed Modibbo,  scored a total of 197 votes to emerge second.

A former Lagos and Borno military administrator, Buba Marwa, got 54 votes, while Umar Ardo, and a member of the State Assembly, Jerry Kumdisi, scored 9 and 4 votes respectively.

There were also 23 invalid votes.

He called on the defeated aspirants to support the acting governor for the overall success of the party in the October election.
