ajomobiThe Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has vowed that peace will not be compromised by any group or persons in the state.

The governor made the promise while reacting to the alleged threat by former Governor Rashidi Ladoja of the Accord Party that there would be reprisal attacks, if members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) continued to harass his people.

Governor Ajimobi added that the victory won by the APC was more than convincing, as the people voted overwhelmingly for him.

Former Governor Ladoja had said he was gathering evidence to enable him come back to the Government House in the next three months through the tribunal.

Ajimobi further stressed that any candidate who feels that the will of the people should be contested, must do so within the ambit of the law. He said any breach of peace would not be tolerated from anyone in the state, no matter how highly placed.

In his address to Accord Party (AP) supporters, former Governor Ladoja had warned that if the governor does not warn his supporters from harassing his people, there would be reprisal attacks. He claimed that the elections results do not represent the will of the people.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Katsina, said no group or individual would be allowed to take the law into their hands, advising any aggrieved candidate to seek legal redress.

Other governorship candidates, who contested with Governor Ajimobi have expressed readiness to work with him, in order to move the state forward.
