President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs to fast track the process of re-uniting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) scattered in different camps with their  families. 

On Wednesday, President Buhari gave the directive after receiving a briefing from the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Jamila Shu’ara.

The President, however, expressed concern about the plight of families that have been separated by the on-going insurgency in the north-east.

He also deplored the condition of the children in the camps and emphasised that appropriate mechanisms must be put in place to ensure their proper up-bringing to avoid them ending up as liability to the nation.

President Buhari also asked the Minister, Kabiru Turaki, to closely monitor constituency projects across the country for maximum impact on the citizens.
