usain boltAfter reasserting his status as the fastest man on the planet, Usain Bolt says he wants to cement a legend status on the track.

The victory for Bolt will be an undoubted boost for a sport which has spent three weeks locked in a public relations crisis, after allegations of widespread doping among athletes.

Bolt, the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder, has now not been beaten in the 100m or 200m in six major Global Championships going back to 2007.

The fastest athlete beat Justin Gatlin to the 100m title at the World Athletics Championship in Beijing in a time of 9.79 seconds.

He told the BBC that the “win means a lot because I’ve been struggling all season and I was having problems with my start. I knew I had to put all that behind me and just drive”.
