The Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has appealed to the State Government to take the welfare of the primary school teachers as a matter of priority to bring back lost glory to basic education in the state.
The State Chairman of the NUT, Suleiman Abdullahi, made the appeal while addressing teachers in Lokoja, the state’s capital, on the World Teachers’ Day which was marked on Monday.
He also stated that education would continue to face set backs if the job of teachers is not made attractive in the society.
