The Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) Federal University Oye-Ekiti has embarked on an indefinite strike following the nonpayment of over 50 months’ salaries, arrears as well as other benefits.

The Chairman of the union, Dada Adebayo, who led the members in a peaceful protest at the institution’s premises, said that they could no longer bear the brunt of being unpaid.

The Chairman of the governing council, Mogaji Bawa, who came out from the middle of a meeting with the institution management to address the union, appealed for peace and calm.

He said that the matter was being addressed by the council.
