The Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, has clocked 73 years on Thursday.
President Buhari may not be interested in rolling out the drums to mark his birthday but the Guards Brigade did that for him.
A detachment of the Guards Brigade joined the President’s official aids at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where a silent military parade was held in his honour.
Some of the military displays may have reminded President Buhari of his days as a young military officer.
Shortly after the procession, the Commandant of the Guards Brigade felicitated with the President as well as presented a giant card to him.
He prayed that God strengthens the Commander-in-Chief as he handles the onerous task of governance.
