YouWinA group of people have protested the non-payment of the third phase of funds for the Youth Enterprise With Innovation in Nigeria programme, YouWin.

The aggrieved protesters took to the premises of the Ministry of Finance in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Monday to press home their demand.

The YouWin initiative introduced by former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, was designed to address the problem of unemployment in the country.

The protesters lamented that the failure of the Federal Government to pay the third installment of the grant was crippling their businesses.

One of the protesters, Babalola Olugbenga, explained that they used the initial grant to set up in 2014, when their business proposals were approved by the then administration.

The YouWin beneficiaries appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, and the Central Bank of Nigeria to intervene by directing those with the responsibility of paying them to commence the disbursement of the funds.
