Operatives of the Nigerian Air Force attached to the ‘Operation Yaki’ security outfit in Kaduna State, have recovered over 600 cows and other animals stolen by rustlers in various parts of the state.
Speaking to journalists during the handover of the recovered animals to the state government, the Commander 335 Base Service Group, Air Commodore Bello Garba, said the rustlers were intercepted by his officers while fleeing with the stolen animals inside the Kamuku forest in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.
Air Commodore Garba, who explained that the recovery was made possible through intelligence information from members of the public, said the operation is part of efforts by the Nigerian Air Force to curtail armed banditry, insurgency and other related crimes in the north west zone.
The Special Adviser to the Kaduna State governor on Security, Yakubu Yusuf, who received the recovered animals on behalf of the state government, applauded the contribution of the Nigerian Air Force for their role in ensuring that activities of rustlers and other criminals are reduced to the barest minimum across the state.
