The Progressive Governors’ Forum is seeking ways out of the economic recession in the country and a policy design session of secretaries to state governments of the APC is holding in Jos, Plateau state.

They are addressing contemporary issues bothering on the state of the economy and particularly developing templates for the states’ economic growth.

It is aimed at creating understanding for uniform policy initiatives and implementation among the states under the APC.

Building the economy of states by developing inclusive sustainable growth, social protection, education and health with emphasis on agriculture are the focus of the meeting.

The Country Director, Plan International, Dr Hussain Abdul, was the key note speaker at the event and he emphasized the need for a strong integrated agricultural system whereby the production level is taken to the level that will increase farmers’ productivity and ensure a deviation from being a mono-economy.

As key drivers of policy implementation in their various states, the participants were challenged to come up with templates that will propel the growth of the economy of the states and impact on national development.
