The Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, has called for unity among candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to avoid losing elections to the opposition party.
El-Rufai stated this to journalists on Friday.
He called on the national leadership of the party to provide an authentic list of screened aspirants.
His statement comes after some members of the APC in the state protested at the party’s secretariat, over the disqualification of one of the senatorial aspirants for the Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Uba Sani by the NWC.
The aggrieved members accused the Adams Oshiomole-led national working committee of deliberately attempting to manipulate the process to give way for an automatic ticket to the current senator representing the Kaduna Central zone, Shehu Sani.
To this development, the state governor also challenged Senator Shehu Sani, to stop seeking for an automatic ticket but rather seek votes through campaigns.
