The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested 22 suspects for armed robbery, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.

Addressing journalists on Thursday at the Command Headquarters in Kaduna, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abdulrahman Ahmad, said that seven of the suspects were arrested in connection with alleged criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.

He stated that the remaining suspects were apprehended for kidnapping, impersonation and receiving stolen property.

The Police boss also mentioned that some arms, ammunition, stolen television sets, laptop computers, phones and a tricycle were recovered from the suspects.

According to him, the suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will be charged to court when the police concludes its investigation.

The CP also reiterated the commitment of the Force to fighting all forms of crime in the state and protecting lives and property.

On the forthcoming general elections, Ahmad urged all political stakeholders to desist from hampering the relative peace which according to him, is being enjoyed in the state.

He also warned residents to avoid using social media platforms to spread fake news or hate speeches capable of inciting violence.
